The Tree House B&B

About

The Picturesque Area

The scenic Tree House Bed & Breakfast is situated on the edge of Elliot, a quaint town in the Eastern Cape.  Nestled against a blue gum tree forest, we are spoilt with plenty of bird life including guinea fowls and an eagle that has made one of the trees its home.  The Slang River flows past the property just outside our boundary, providing a beautiful, scenic and relaxing environment.

The History

Our home away from home accommodation is rich in family history.  Originally the first 3 flats were an old milking shed and stables.  Being a single mom at the time, I had to come up with an idea to earn an extra income, and the vision was born over a cup of coffee with a close friend. In 2008 my dad and brother helped me transform the old milk shed into 3 self-catering flatlets and the Treehouse B & B journey began.

The new flats were added in 2014 together with the now popular Treehouse Restaurant.

To ensure we are forever evolving to meet our guests’ expectations, we upgraded the rooms with new modern décor in 2023 giving each room a unique feel.

The Accommodation

We offer 6 spacious, comfortable self-catering units suitable for travelling business people, or for family holiday makers.  Arrangements can be made if you are travelling with your pets.

The Tree House provide the perfect stop over for people travelling to Cape Town from Natal and vice versa, we can accommodate vehicles with trailers as we have a very large parking area.

Things To Do

There are plenty of hiking trails in the area as well as Bottlenek Pass, Cala Pass, Barkly Pass, Otto Du Plessis Pass, Fetcani Pass, Mgwalana Pass for the 4×4 and mountain bike enthusiasts.

We are situated +- 90km via gravel road from Rhodes that offers the adventurous lots to do.

We have trout fishing in the area, if interested we will provide you with a contact number for arrangements.

Our Team

My team; Joyce and Lindi have been with me for many years and are a part of our happy family;   they always have a smile and are willing to help you.

Our resident dog, Tigger, a cross between a dachshund and a jack russel, barks at everyone but makes friends soon.  He loves chasing balls and stones, a word of warning though, once you begin throwing for him to fetch, he won’t leave you alone!!

Be it business or leisure travel we strive to make your stay a memorable one and look forward to welcoming you.

Yours in hospitality, Megan
